

Tommie Lee Jackson of Lansing, MI took his final rest at his home on April 27, 2026. Tommie was born on March 10, 1938 in Hughs, Arkansas to the late Williemae Wilson and Tommie Lee Jackson Sr. Tommie who was affectionately called “Ben” by his friends and loved ones, he was a very special man, who loved the lord and shared the word of God to everyone. Tommie attended Mildred Jackson High School in Hughs, Arkansas.
Tommie moved to Lansing, MI in the late 1970’s and wed Rose Adams. Tommie enjoyed working on cars, fixing anything he could get his hands on and listening to his gospel music. He always had a good word and a life story for anyone. Tommie was a faithful and dedicated member of New Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the Deacon Board for numerous years at various churches in Chicago and Lansing MI; he was also part of the Praise and Worship team, where he loved to sing. Tommie will be remembered by his unwavering dedication and faith in serving God and others. He was a tenured employee of Elkay Manufactures in Broadview, Illinois and his last working tenure with Lansing School District, in Lansing, Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Williemae Wilson; Father, Tommie Jackson Sr.; Daughter, Gail Adams; and Son, Terrell Blakney.
Tommie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rose Jackson; brother, Henry Jackson; sons, Tommie Jackson, Jr, Kerry J. & Nancy Jackson, Sean Jackson, and Eric D. Blakney; daughters, Glinda M. Murchison-Jackson, Bridgett D. Jackson- Williams, & Rachel D. Blakney; 18 grandsons, 16 granddaughters, and a host of great grandkids.
Special loving recognition to cousin Saralee Toney, who was more of a sister than a cousin, and best friends Mingo Hudson & Willie Rembert.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Shiloah Baptist Church, 5225 S.Waverly Rd, Lansing, with viewing from 11:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
