Victor Hugo Halstead

He is survived by his 9 children, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and there is one great -great grandchild on the way. As well as numerous "adopted" children.

Victor, "Papa" was born in Lansing Michigan on October 19, 1932. He graduated from The Church of the Resurrection in 1951 where he lettered multiple years in track, baseball, football, & basketball. After graduating Victor worked many jobs in the area until he found his calling as a paint salesman. He went to work for the Painters Supply store, later to become FinishMaster Automotive Paint Supplier and enjoyed 42 years meeting and talking with people; that was his favorite part of the job.

A lifelong sports enthusiasts and an avid Chicago Bears fan; Vic loved a good golf game or working with his children and grandchildren to encourage them in their pursuit of their sport of choice. Active in his community through the Knights of Columbus, attending services and volunteering at St. Gerards and becoming the Resident President of MediLodge of Capital Area where he resided these last two years; Vic never met a stranger and always had a kind word for those he met.

Services will be held at St. Gerards Church Wednesday June 14th at 10:30 a.m. Please join the family at Victor's request of gathering for remembrances, storytelling and jokes at Deluca's Restaurant starting at 1:30 pm.
