Vivian E. Bryde

Lansing, MI

Born April 23, 1930 in Big Rapids, MI, to Elmer and Grace Peterson, peacefully went to be with her Lord December 8, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Marlene Clark. Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years Bruce; daughter, Susan (Mark) Benson; son, Bruce Alan (Shelly) Bryde; grandchildren, Chad Benson, Heidi (Brian) Misaras, Jacob Bryde, Jordan Bryde; brother, Harry (Betty) Peterson; sister, Lois (Allen) Schroeder; and brother-in-law, Dr. Alpha Clark, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian was a graduate of Big Rapids High School and CMU. She had a heart for people and a passion for teaching, working as an elementary school teacher and a pre-school teacher. She served for 10 years as Secretary for the Church of God in Michigan and on numerous boards at Pennway Church of God where she was a faithful member and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She had a great love for God and her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Pennway Church of God, 1101 E. Cavanaugh, Lansing, MI with the Rev. John Davey officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing and 1 hour prior to services at the church.
