The first time I met Betty was at a rescue event when I was volunteering for St. Francis approx. 20 years ago.  I loved the way she was!  Straight forward and she told it like it is!  She taught me a lot about rescue and animals.  I went on to open my own rescue group Lost Angels Animal Rescue.  I will always feel that Betty was a huge influence on me and I will always be grateful to her.  The Rescue community has lost an Icon with her passing.  You will be missed Betty.

Betty Hay was an angel that walked among us, dedicating her life to helping so many animals through adoptions and spaying /neutering.  She was passionate and kindhearted, and lived her life doing what made her the happiest.  She made a positive impact in this world, and I am honored that we had the privilege of meeting her and helping her with her efforts for a short time in her rescue group,  Animal Friends Society.  Thank you, Betty, for all that you've done.  You will be greatly missed.

I will always remember the first time I meet you. I adopted Coco from you, a chocolate lab. Then from there it all started. I rescued with you for years. I got my job at the E clinic and we started to see each other there as well. I will miss you. All the good you did for the animals.

Thank you Betty for your tireless work in saving countless numbers of animals. Your passion for them showed in everything you did.  Thank you for welcoming me into the group you created,  Animal Friends Society.  I felt privileged to work alongside you and will do my best to continue the work you were so passionate about. You were a wealth of knowledge.

I will miss hearing the many stories you loved to tell, the laughter we shared, and the time spent with you.  I love you Betty and will miss you my friend. 

Betty was a blessing to all who knew her, and especially to the creatures she loved and protected her entire life.   Her passion for protecting helpless creatures was woven into the fabric of her entire being.  Her love will continue through the group she founded, Animal Friends Society.  Even though some did not understand her passion and discouraged her efforts, she never faltered in her mission to spay, neuter and save thousands of animals from lives of misery.  In doing so, she touched the lives of hundreds of people and changed the world into a kinder, gentler place.  We will miss your compassion, sense of humor, colorful stories, and passion, Betty.  It was an honor to know you.
