90, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home in Cypress Palms of Largo, Florida. Born in San Antonio, Texas in 1923, Betty moved to Atlanta, Georgia as an infant and lived there until her move to Tampa, Florida in 2004. She graduated high school from Washington Seminary in Atlanta and college from Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. During college, Betty pledged Chi Omega sorority and she remained a supporter of both schools and the sorority throughout her adult life. She is survived by two children, Garges Patton Purtee of Treasure Island, Florida and James Venable Patton of St. Simons Island Georgia; four grandchildren, Lambdin Freeman Weinberg and Stehly, Kelly and Thomas Patton; and one great-grandchild Elizabeth Addison Weinberg. She was loved deeply by her family and friends and will be remembered for her positive spirit and irresistible smile.
