She was born in Amonate, Virgina to Gertie & Cecil Altizer. She had 1 sister, Nina Hunt and 2 brothers, Blake & Kenneth Altizer.
She was Married to Claude Lee Basinger Jr. for 45 years. They had 3 children, Pamela Lynn, Gary Lee, & Bernard James Basinger. She had 5 grandchildren, & many great grandchildren.
Dana grew up a real coal miners daughter in the hills of Virginia. She moved with her family to California at the age of 18. Dana was employed at a bank for 20+ years. She enjoyed walking at least 3 miles every day. Often you would find her at the lake watching the beautiful clouds, birds & squirrels.
She liked growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and flowers in her garden in Johnsburg Il. She would make sure the little sparrows at her house would always be fed and an occasional chipmunk would come up to her to grab a treat.
She was loved by so many friends and family members and will be missed so much by all. Though she was 90 years old, she kept her young and beautiful appearance. She loved Jesus, Southern Gospel Music and walking.
