Ellen Ann Lebohner, a trailblazing real estate professional and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, community advocate, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida.
Born on November 21, 1937, in Long Island, New York, Ellie was born to Robert Helwig and Grace Helwig. She later moved to Florida, where she built a remarkable life with her husband, Robert G. Lebohner, and their two sons, Raymond and Bobby. Ellie and Robert shared 53 wonderful years of marriage before Robert’s passing in 2011.
Ellie was a powerhouse in the real estate industry, earning numerous accolades and designations over her decades-long career. She held the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designations, and was honored with the prestigious REALTOR® Emeritus Status from the National Association of REALTORS® for over 40 years of dedicated service.
Her long list of professional honors includes the Pinellas REALTOR® Organization Citizen of the Month, the Leadership Academy Certificate of Achievement, the Century 21 Residential Specialist Professional Designation, multiple Sales Achievement Awards, and the Silver Eagle Award from the Century 21 Real Estate Corporation across North, Central, and Southern Florida.
Ellie was deeply committed to helping those facing the greatest challenges. She devoted a significant part of her career to assisting individuals with severe and permanent disabilities in achieving homeownership. Through her work with Abilities of Florida and the Pinellas County Community Development Department, she helped make dreams of accessible, independent living come true for many who might otherwise have been left behind. For this, she was honored with the HUD Best Practices Award.
A lifelong advocate for veterans and military families, Ellen was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary 13, a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was recognized with a USO Certificate of Recognition in 2022.
Ellie was larger than life. Passionate, dynamic, and endlessly generous. She loved her family fiercely and found joy in community projects, traveling the world, and cruising. Her strength, wit, and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond J. (Deborah) Lebohner and Robert W. “Bobby” Lebohner; granddaughters, Jessica Lea Lebohner and Jami Ellen Lebohner; and great-grandsons, Carter and Carson Gheoghegan.
