Evelyn Mildred Leonhardt

Evelyn Mildred Leonhardt, 92, of Clearwater, FL, passed away on November 24, 2024. She was born on March 14, 1932, in Camden, NJ, to Mildred Munyan Broman and George Munyan. She was also lovingly raised by her step-father, Joseph Broman.

Evelyn graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ. On March 16, 1957, she married Herbert William Leonhardt, Sr., and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Evelyn was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Somerdale, NJ, and later became an active member of Gulf Coast Church in Clearwater.

Evelyn’s greatest passions included skiing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying life with her beloved husband, Herbert. She had a deep love for the beach and cherished the years she and Herbert spent running the Bel Crest Resorts Motel on Clearwater Beach from 1980 to 2002. Their motel became a home away from home for many guests, who returned year after year and were treated like family.

Evelyn was also a dedicated and active member of The Republican Club, both in New Jersey and Florida. She was known for her fun-loving nature, infectious laughter, and her ability to make any activity enjoyable by putting her whole heart into it. Above all, Evelyn loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she spoiled and adored.

She is survived by her children: Patricia Scott of Auburn, CA, Herbert Leonhardt Jr. (Rhonda) of Clearwater, FL, and Tracie Leonhardt Beasley (Mitch) of Clearwater, FL; her grandchildren: Bryan Harmon, Brandyn Kuhn, Jaime Happ, Samantha Scott, Ashlie Scharmen, Megan Leonhardt, Tiffany Beasley, Mitchel Lee Beasley, Joel Beasley, and Valerie Greenleaf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Leonhardt, Sr.; her son, William Edward Leonhardt; and her brothers, George Munyan and Ralph Munyan Sr.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A visitation for Evelyn will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gulf Coast Church, 13301 Walsingham Rd, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13301 Walsingham Rd, Largo, FL 33774. Please meet at the Metabolic Medical Center; 1120 Belcher Road Suite 2 Largo, FL 33771 for a reception afterwards.
