John S Mecleary Jr.

MECLEARY Jr, John S "Jack" passed away peacefully on Dec 9, 2012. Born on Sept 1, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA. Jack was a successful Insurance Broker in Newtown Square, PA owning his own firm, the Mecleary Insurance Agency, before retiring to Largo, FL in 1991. He was predeceased by his sisters Emily Barton and Elizabeth Friskits. Jack was a volunteer at Suncoast Hospital Skilled Care and Rehab for many years. He enjoyed fishing, sailing and had a special love for Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving in the Navy on the USS Housatonic, a fleet tanker, at the rank of Fireman First Class. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia (nee: Murphy) Mecleary, and devoted daughters; Danielle M Whalen of Malvern, PA, Aimee L Dietrich of Newton Square, PA and Mia A Mecleary of Nazareth, PA., grandchildren: Jamie and Maggie Dietrich of Newtown Square, PA and Andrew and Evan Mengel of Nazareth, PA. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Largo. Visitation hours are planned for Wednesday Dec 12th 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home Serenity Gardens Chapel in Largo (727) 562-2080. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday Dec 13th 2012 at 10:30 am. Military Honors will follow the Funeral Mass.
