

She was born on August 25, 1942, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Maudie Elmira Harris and Grady Creel. Joyce graduated from Winnsboro High School and went on to pursue a career in baking and culinary arts, sharing her talents for many years with The Pie Factory, where she was admired for her creativity, dedication, and signature warmth.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joyce lived a life guided by compassion, service, and devotion to her family and faith.
Joyce had a true passion for baking, sewing, and quilting. Whether she was preparing a homemade pie, stitching a quilt, or crafting something special by hand, she did so with love and intention.
She is survived by her children, Donna Black Ross, James V. Black Jr. (November "Ember"), Bryan L. Black Sr., Karen M. Kubicki (Kenneth "Ken"), and Diana M. Black (John); and by her beloved grandchildren: Thomas Ross (Casijo "Cj") Shannon Ross, Amanda Bassett (Jessie), Katrina Black, Krystal Nelson (Chris), Bryan Black Jr. (Brittany), Annabelle Kubicki, and Savannah Jagodowski. She leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Jared Bassett, Johnathan Bassett, and Briley Ross.
Joyce was predeceased by her grandson, Quinten Kubicki, whose memory she carried lovingly in her heart.
Her family and friends will deeply miss her enduring love, gentle humor, and the legacy of care she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9001 106th Avenue North, Seminole, FL 33777. All who knew and loved Joyce are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
