A native of Largo and descendant of the McMullen pioneers passed away September 12,
2015 at a very lively 91. She graduated from LHS and Stetson University in Deland,
where she was a member of ZTA. She taught business classes at Clearwater High her
entire career and was the CBE Coordinator. Although she was a CHS Tornado
supporter as a faculty member, Marjorie was forever a Largo Packer fan, and she rarely
missed a home game of the World Champion Clearwater Bombers men's softball team.
She was a huge Florida Gator fan and could talk scores, stats and players – never
missing a game on t.v. Marjorie was a member of many civic organizations, including
the Springtime Chapter of ABWA and Largo BPW. A lifelong member of First United
Methodist Church of Largo, volunteered in the office every Sunday, where, if they were lucky, one of her
grandchildren got to ring the Sunday School bell! She was active in numerous boards and groups, including
APWA, BPW and the Largo Historical Society. She enjoyed travel, the theatre, and
dining out – and she was always up for a last minute adventure. Her love of life was
only surpassed by the love she had for her family. She was the epitome of all a great
mother should be, affording every opportunity to her daughter, Susan; and she outshone
that with her role as grandmother, where she was a caregiver, chauffeur, counselor, and
always the cheerleader for her grandsons, Noel (Ashley), Domenic, Ian, and
granddaughter, Kersey. They were all blessed to have such a loving, fun, and giving
woman in their lives, and none of them would be who they are without her. There is a
deep void left in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heritage Village would be
most appreciated. She held our hands for a while and will hold our hearts forever.
