

Mary George Rivers Hill, aged 88, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, residing in San Antonio, Florida. Born on July 1, 1935, in Sumiton, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Martha Ellen Parker Rivers and George Austin Rivers.
Mary's life was filled with love and meaningful connections. She graduated from Phillips High School and later married the love of her life, James Mershon Hill, on November 27, 1954. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with joy and love.
As an administrative assistant for an Alabama Power Company, Mary's dedication and professionalism left a lasting impact on those she worked with. But her true passions were found within her family. She was a cherished wife, a caring mother, a devoted sister, a doting grandmother, and a proud great grandmother. Mary's love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Beyond her roles in family and work, Mary found joy in cooking, scrapbooking, and exploring the world through travel. These activities allowed her creativity to flourish and brought happiness to those around her.
Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but the memories of her warmth, laughter, attention to detail and unconditional love will forever remain in their hearts.
Mary was survived by her husband of 69 years, James; son, Michael (Karen); daughter, Alicia (David); grandchildren, Brandon, Scott (Lauren), Jordan, Melanie (Christian), Philip (Sarah), Joseph, and preceded in death, Jeffrey; great-grandson, Easton; Mary's sisters, Bettye Jo Benson and Sue Austin Cooper. Many other extended family members loved Mary.
A visitation for Mary will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, with a graveside to follow at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
