

Dr. Michael Leonard Losee was born on April 19, 1941 in Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY., son of Donald B. Losee, Sr. and Marion Koons Losee of Ghent, NY late of Melbourne, FL. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Losee, of 44 years of Seminole, FL., his three daughters, Deanna Strahl (George) of St. Louis, MO, Meredith Johnson (Michael), of Redington Shores, FL and Sara Mecalo (Michael) of Palm Bay FL, his brother, Dr. Donald Bruce Losee, Jr (Carol) of Richmond, Va and Nova Scotia, Canada as well as his three grandchildren, Tiera Losee, Michael Johnson and Morgan Johnson.
Mike graduated from Chatham Central High School in 1959. After graduation from high school he attended Dartmouth College graduating with a BA in Chemistry in 1963. While at Dartmouth, he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. Year after year, Mike returned to Dartmouth for his class reunions reconnecting with his fraternity brothers and classmates alike, forming lifelong friendships. After graduation, he continued his education at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA pursuing a PhD in Chemistry. He graduated from Lehigh in 1967 and immediately began working for Monsanto Chemical Company in St Louis, MO as a research scientist, advancing to Director of Central Research at Monsanto. Dr. Losee transitioned from Monsanto to NutraSweet in Northbrook, IL as Vice President of Research and Development. After retirement, he returned for a short period of time, working as a DirectorHi at the national headquarters of the American Chemical Society in Washington, DC. Mike and Peggy had a home on Green Bay in Egg Harbor, WI. Every May, for over 35 years he and Peggy would drive there to enjoy their summers and be with friends. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed coaching softball, attending sporting events with his grandchildren, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and spending quality time with family. He was the greatest father, smartest man we knew and will be missed terribly.
