Nancy lived in Belleair Beach for 26 years, enjoying the sun and scenery of the gulf.
She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and grew up near Indianapolis, in the small town of Fortville. She earned her degree from Indiana University, where she met her husband, Wayne. They were married in 1969 and began their careers working for GE, and after retiring, moved to Florida.
Nancy came from a large, combined family, many of whom have passed before her.
Family who will miss Nancy include Husband, Wayne Ayers; Brother, Jerry Martin & wife Louise; Sister, Linda Meggenhofen; Brother-in-law, Dave Ayers & wife Linda; Brother-in-law, Ron Brown, as well as 7 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Indian Rocks Historical Society and was the photographer for numerous books published about local sites and towns.
Although not a gardener, she enjoyed and appreciated flowers and those who cultivated them. She was an excellent seamstress, often sewing her own clothes when she was younger, as well as making her wedding dress and bridesmaids dress.
Nancy was a member of Church by the Sea Madeira. Being a Christian, her faith was a large part of who she was. When her brother entered the Navy and was away from home for the first time at Christmas, she sent him a small bible that he has always cherished and still has to this day.
She was kind and considerate, and always steadfast.
Graveside Service will be at 3PM May 30, 2026 at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, 13401 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, FL.
