

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 23, 1937, and lived there until 1951 when she and her family moved to Tampa.
She is survived by son Patrick Mellon, daughter Ann Lawrence Mellon, grandsons Mark Patrick and Michael Moore, granddaughter Catherine Moore, granddaughter Kathren Grace Mellon, and sister Virginia.
She attended Hillsborough High School, where she won many honors including Who's Who in American High Schools, she was a cheerleader, assistant editor of The Red and Black, a member of the National Thespian Society, and Secretary of Student Council. After graduation, she attended The University of Florida and remained a fervent Gator fan always. She was an Account Executive for Grant Advertising, and she worked for Senator Sam Gibbons. Later, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Tampa General Hospital and quickly moved up to President of the Auxiliary serving on the Hospital Board of Directors. She represented the Auxiliary at local, state, and national meetings, and was named One of the 10 Outstanding Women in America. She was in The Junior League of Tampa, she was a Merrymaker Sponsor, and she was a Maid in the Court of Gasparilla. She modeled runway and print and was on the first postcard for Busch Gardens, and on the cover of the Tampa Tribune's first color issue.
A service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater.
