He loved hunting, fishing and trapping for most of his life. In his later years, he enjoyed smoking a variety of meats and cheeses.
He worked at PennDot for 34 years as an equipment operator. He spent many years on a grater fixing roads but liked snow removal most in the salt shaker truck. He loved working with the Game Commission as a Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer for 8 years. It was more than a job for him, it was his passion for wildlife.
Ray was preceded in death by his dad Raymond “Spitz” Baptiste (1996), mom Blanche “Babe” Baptiste (2008), son Daniel John Baptiste (2008) and brother Russ Baptiste (2022). Since the death of his son, Ray wrestled with the Lord every day. After a long hard battle with pancreatic cancer, Ray accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized on August 11, 2023. We thank Jesus and pray that Dan’l and Russ found a secret hot spot and are hunting with Ray right now.
