Robert W. Fisher, 95, of Largo, Florida, died March 6th, one week shy of his 96th birthday. Born in 1915 in Anderson, Indiana, he graduated from DePauw University in 1937. He worked at the Wall Street Journal 1939 to 1941 before enlisting int he US Marines in 1941. He fought with the 1st Division in the Pacific Theater at Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa, after which he was awarded the Bronze Star. He worked at Doremus & Company, New York, NY from 1945 - 1977. He retired to Largo, Florida, in 1983. Married for 55 years to Helen Batchelder Fisher, who predeceased him in 1996. Survived by three daughters, Sallie Fisher Papenfuse of Baltimore, MD, Jane Fisher of Concord, MA, and Barbara Fisher of Asheville, NC, and his Japanese AFS daughter Atsuko Habu of Tokyo; their spouses; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
