Shirley Allen, age 82, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025. Born in Bergen, New Jersey on March 9, 1943, she was the beloved daughter of Anna Lau and John Venezia.
Shirley grew up in Florida and graduated from Largo Senior High School, where she began to root herself in the community she would cherish for the rest of her life.
Shirley found joy and creative expression in her career as a florist, sharing her love of flowers with countless others. She was a proud member of the Largo Historical Society, reflecting her deep appreciation for local history and her enduring commitment to preserving the stories of her hometown.
On November 10, 1979, Shirley married the love of her life, Raymond Muller. Together, they built a beautiful life full of laughter, family, and love until Raymond's passing on July 11, 2020.
Shirley was a woman of simple pleasures and deep passions. She adored beach sunsets, curling up with a good book—especially the Reacher series—and getting lost in crime and mystery shows. One of her favorite traditions was going to the movies with her granddaughter Ashley, a bond they treasured. She was also a devoted dog mom to her late furry companions, Buddy and Moose, who brought her endless joy. She especially loved international traveling with her children, cherishing the adventures and memories they created together around the world.
She is survived by her loving children: Thomas Allen, Lynne-Ann Rose, Rebecca Harmon, Laura Clegg, and Scott Muller; her cherished grandchildren: Joshua Williams, Nathan Allen, Daniel Alexander Rose, Ashley Harmon, Taylor O'Brien, Jeff Clegg, Skylar Clegg, Weston Muller, Jackson Muller, and Laine Muller; and her great-grandchildren Brayden Williams and Westin Williams. Shirley was preceded in death by her dear siblings: John Venezia, Bill Venezia, and Audrey Bray.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley’s life on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Largo Municipal Cemetery.
Shirley’s warmth, kindness, and spirited love for her family will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
