Thomas (Tommy) Daniel Livingstone, Sr., 55, of Largo, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 8:21pm on August 21, 2019. He was born on April 8, 1964 in Kearny, New Jersey to James Livingstone and Eileen (McGinty) Livingstone. His father, James, predeceased him.
He is survived by his triplet sons, Thomas Daniel Livingstone, Jr. of Seminole, Florida; Richard James Livingstone of Washington, DC; and John Patrick Livingstone of Fort Myers, Florida. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Eileen Livingstone of Largo, Florida; his sister Kathleen Caputo (Mike) of Largo, Florida; his brother James Livingstone (MaryAnn) of Kearny, NJ; his brother Michael (Barbara) Livingstone of Miltown, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tommy being very patriotic, served for 3 years and 5 months in active duty for the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He was stationed in the Philippines during the US Invasion of Grenada and was awarded a Navy Achievement Medal. He was a member of American Legion Heisler Johnson Post 119 in Largo, Florida. After leaving the Navy, Tommy moved to Largo and continued his work of serving his country as a dispatcher for the Largo Police Department, then was recruited as a 911 Call Supervisor with Pinellas County. It is in Largo where Tommy met Marylou Erber and started his family. Having his triplet boys, “born on Christmas day” (which he mentioned to every person he met), was his most prideful accomplishment to date. After he developed a brain tumor in 1998 Tommy retired from his duties with Pinellas County.
Tommy (or Triplet Tom as he proclaimed himself to be for both strangers and friends alike) was a beloved fixture of the Largo community. He was a friend to many, enemy to none; and will be missed by all. Living 20 plus years after the first brain tumor Tommy always remained positive and eager to help friends, and family, which he did often and without questioning.
He truly enjoyed sports, being an avid New York Giants fan, and a supporter for the Mets. He enjoyed watching the games with family and friends, and would know all the players and have an opinion as to how the game should end; usually he was right. He enjoyed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as well as the Tampa Bay Lightning as his boys were avid fans. After the Rays became the professional baseball team for Tampa Bay, Tommy became a season ticket holder for a few years and devoted fan enjoying many games with his sons. Playing cards especially euchre and poker with family and friends was a favorite pastime. Family and friends remember many nights of playing cards at their home, while the Triplets slept.
A legend, in his own mind, Tommy truly enjoyed the game of golf. If the ball went under a bush or tree, he would use his famous, “Tommy Toe Wedge”, to kick the ball out into the fairway. Many of his friends learned to use it also. He enjoyed golf for the time spent with friends and family, and the beauty of being on the golf course. Traveling yearly with a group to Sebring for a weekend of golf was always fun with friends.
Traveling with his family was always an adventure, Tommy was always excited to take his children to his home state of New Jersey. He wanted them to see where he grew up and to introduce them to near by New York City. On one trip he was able to take his family to see the musical “Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway. He loved the music so much he continued to play the CD with or without his sons' blessings. Music always surrounded Tommy; he truly enjoyed music always known for his love for “The Boss”, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra and many more. Music became a way of expression for Tommy and it certainly was his favorite art form as he is known for his memorable karaoke performances, and his 80’s playlist selections on the juke box.
