88, of Dunedin, went to be with Jesus on September 17, 2019. Wayne was born on December 1, 1930 to Herman Pageler and Mithilda Baach in Merrill, Iowa, where he farmed on their land and set pins at a bowling alley before joining the Air Force at 19 years old. He was a member of the VFW and was also a Stephen Minister Leader and Elder at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was always faithful in attending worship.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Ester B. Pageler; four children, Ronald Pageler, Judith Cowan, Michael Pageler and Patrick Pageler; two step-daughters, Peggy Osborne and Ellen Reppa; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Dearest Wayne: Happy Father's day!
I want you to know how loved you are. You married into our family and treated Ellen and I as your daughters and loved our children. You’ve taught me a lot, and I know that the biggest thing you have taught my sons is how to be men of character. Thank you for being a great role model.
Thank you for loving our Mom and being so good to her. I will always remember the great memories and conversations we have together, and I look forward to many more!
Your Christian faith has always been a bedrock. Also, thank you for introducing us to the Lutheran faith denomination. You exude compassion, love and strength.
I have never seen you angy or out of sorts. You have always been steady. You have never complained, even when you had reasons to. You are always cheerful and happy, with a smile for everyone. You are the kind of man that others want to be around and to be like.
The older I get the more I realize how important it is to have a dad like you. You have provided stability in my life and the love and acceptance I needed.
You are very special and I will always have a place for you in my heart. Happy Father's Day!
All my love,
Peggy
