

Devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great- Grandmother
Wilhelmenia Lawson, 91, passed peacefully at her Largo, Fl home on Thursday, February 15th, surrounded by family.
Joyce was born May 5th, 1932 in Xenia, IL. She met her husband, Martin Lawson in 1949. They were happily married for 74 years. Martin and Joyce were longtime residents of Bowen, IL and retired to Palmetto, Florida in 1985. Joyce enjoyed baking, quilting, playing cards and spending time with her grandsons and later their families. Joyce loved to give back to her community. She volunteered with the Palmetto Police Station for 25 years and spent time quilting quilts and pillowcases for children at the Ronald McDonald House and All Children’s Hospital.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Martin, her daughter Debbie Byrne (Steven) of St. Petersburg, FL, Brother, Paul Wires (Sandy) of Palmetto, FL, Grandsons, Christopher and (Rachael) of Knoxville, TN, Logan and (Vicki) of Boise, ID and her great-grandchildren, Connor, Evelyn and Lillian.
Joyce is preceded in death by her son Michael Lawson.
Joyce is remembered for her kindness and generosity, full heart and her love for her family and friends.
