Alicia Gonzalez was born on February 25, 1934 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to loving parents Pedro Gonzalez and Patricia Diaz who both preceded her in death. Alicia had a brother, Felix Gonzalez, and a sister, Carmin Gonzalez who both preceded her in death. She has a sister, Rosa Gonzalez, and a brother who both live in New York. Alicia moved to Los Angeles with her six children Miguel Angel Fargas, Gladys Nerida Fargas, both who preceded her in death, and Luseleida Lorick, Elvin Ortiz, Louie Ortiz, Ramona Ortiz, and Melenee Kersey.
While she worked as a seamstress, and she was also a part of the Los Angeles Bowling league. She also had a passion for Latin, Jazz & Salsa music. She then met the love of her life, World Famous Grammy Award Winning Orchestra Leader Ramon Mongo Santamaria, whom she had a beautiful daughter with, Felicia “Feicha” Santamaria. At that time, Alicia traveled all over the world and was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
Alicia accepted Christ at an early age. She was also a midwife and delivered a few of her own grandchildren. Alicia was a very strong, wise, and astonishing woman. We would often call her a “Quarter of a Million Dollar Woman” because she always and carried herself that way. Although she lived in the city, she raised her children with Puerto Rican Latin values and heritage, Boricua Culture with lots of love and respect and honor.
Alicia leaves behind a host of family and friends….
From the Beaches of Puerto Rico to the City lights of New York to the Sunsets of Los Angeles and the deserts of Vegas, Alicia was and will be loved and missed for a lifetime….
