

Anthony Robert Paculan, 28, was born on February 8, 1996, in Thousand Oaks, California. He was the cherished only child of Maria and the beloved grandson of Petsy and the late Renato Paculan. In the summer of 2010, Anthony moved to Las Vegas, where he attended Southwest Career and Technical
Academy, graduating in 2014. He continued his academic journey at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), earning a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in December 2024. During his time at UNLV, Anthony made a lasting impact, serving as Vice President of the UNLV Public Relations Society of America, representing the university at the National Student Advertising Committee, and receiving the Best Q&A Speaker award. A gifted and aspiring writer, Anthony contributed to the Scarlet and Grey and later served as the Assistant to the Director of Communications for the UNLV College of Engineering. His talent, dedication, and leadership were evident in everything he did.
Anthony was a man of boundless talents and diverse passions. Being a gifted and dedicated writer, he had an insatiable love for literature, immersing himself in everything from the timeless works of Kurt Vonnegut and Fyodor Dostoevsky to lighter, more playful reads like the "Bathroom Readers." His culinary skills were equally impressive, whether he was crafting sandwiches with homemade bread, experimenting with viral TikTok recipes like Feta pasta, or perfecting his renowned Mac n' Cheese. Anthony had a vibrant spirit, enjoying concerts, raves, festivals, and nights out with friends, yet he also cherished quiet moments at home surrounded by family, his beloved dogs Zuma, Kisses, Theodore, and the late but very loved Stitch, and his loving girlfriend Jesslin. A recent passion of his was playing World of Warcraft and leading Dungeons and Dragons campaigns as Dungeon Master, a role he took with great enthusiasm. Anthony also loved to spend time with his soul brothers Kyeu and Jayden, saying on more than one occasion that moving out with them before returning home was one of the best adventures of his life. Anthony’s love for travel and photography fueled his adventures, with the Pacific Northwest holding a special place in his heart-he dreamed of moving there next year.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Anthony remember him as an extraordinarily optimistic, compassionate, and magnetic individual. His genuine warmth, boundless empathy, and sincerity left an indelible mark on everyone he met, while his candid, open-hearted nature effortlessly drew people in. Anthony’s infectious sense of humor and quick wit could brighten any room, bringing joy and laughter to even the most ordinary moments. He was a constant source of support, kindness, and encouragement- a true friend whose presence made life infinitely brighter for all who were lucky enough to know him. His
generosity knew no limits; he had a rare ability to make others feel truly valued, offering a listening ear or heartfelt advice when it was needed most. Anthony's loyalty to his loved ones was unwavering, and his adventurous spirit and insatiable curiosity about the world inspired everyone around him to embrace life with passion, enthusiasm, and an open heart. Whether through shared laughter, deep conversations, or
quiet acts of kindness, Anthony’s profound impact on those who knew him will be cherished for a lifetime. His spirit, warmth, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, family member, or loved one. He was everyone’s certified best friend and he knew it.
Anthony left this world on December 15, 2024, however, that doesn’t mean he is gone. He is always with us, everywhere all at once. This is not a goodbye and it never will be, it is simply an “until next time”. Although this might have actually been his first rodeo, it sure was one hell of a ride. Anthony, you truly were the greatest of all time. Always have been, and always will be. We love you, Anthony, forever and always.
A visitation for Anthony will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, from 3-7 PM and on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 8:30-10 am, with services beginning at 10 am, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113.
