

BENJAMIN SOKOLOWSKI age 97, longtime resident of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away October 28, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 29, 1916 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Ben proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during WW II, as an Armorer and Marksman for Co. “C” 51st Armored Infantry. A longtime employee of Chevron, Ben retired after 46 years of service as a Shift Supervisor. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jennie Sokolowski; daughters, Eleanor Barcelon and husband LeRoy, Lorraine Bills and husband Bruce, and Jennie Thomas; granddaughter, Susan Moody, and husband Chuck; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Justin Moody; and brother, Adam “Sonny” Sokolowski of Perth Amboy, New Jersey; and other loving relatives. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120, (702) 464-8570, a graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m., at Palm Eastern Cemetery, with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in Benjamin’s name to The Hungarian Reformed Church of Carteret, 175 Pershing Ave., Carteret, N.J. 07008
