Beverly June (Eldringhoff) Casey, 81, of Henderson, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, after a short illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Beloit, Kans., and graduated from Beloit High School at the age of 16, thanks to her older sisters, Bonnie Jean and Billie Jo, who played school with her. Beverly attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kans., where she met her lifelong sweetheart, Guy Casey Jr., lovingly known as "Jiggs." The two were married in 1949, and began their adventurous life together. As Jiggs changed jobs in their first few years together, Beverly became the wife of a border patrol officer, a deputy sheriff, an insurance salesman and then for the next 28 years, an Air Force pilot. While always supporting her husband, whose duties sometimes took him far from home and raising three children, she was active in the Officer's Wives Club, choreographing and performing in their club performances. She also modeled in their fashion shows in her retirement years. An accomplished pianist, her children grew up listening to her play music ranging from the classics to boogie-woogie to her favorite, "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue." She was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed her bridge player friendships as much as the challenges of the game. She worked as an administrative assistant to the Montgomery Airport manager in Alabama for six years and as administrative assistant to various department heads of Clark County for 10 years. After retiring, she and Jiggs enjoyed traveling via their rebuilt Cessna and then by their Sandpiper R.V. Beverly was always ready to be a friend and will dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Lt. Col. Guy "Jiggs" Casey Jr. (ret.); and her sister, Billie Jo Carpenter. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Jean File; her children, Cynthia (Tom) Donaldson, Michael (Betty) Casey and Conni Jo (Randy) Harris; granddaughters, Courtnie June Vertucci, Chloe Donaldson, Justina Donaldson and Chelsea Donaldson; grandsons, Maximillian Donaldson and Casey Donaldson; and great-grandson, Thomas Maddox Gonzales. Local services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Kansas services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at McDonald Funeral Home, in Beloit, Kan.
