

Carla Bernadette Evans, born on May 26, 1943, in Los Angeles, CA, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2023, at the age of 80 in Las Vegas, NV. She was a remarkable woman, known for her generosity, thoughtfulness, honesty, strength, and overall badassery. Carla had a zest for life and a passion for travel, always seeking new experiences and adventures. She possessed a creative spirit and had impeccable taste, evident in her stylish appearance, perfectly styled hair, flawless makeup, and fashionable outfits. Carla had a heart of gold and went above and beyond for her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own. She had a flair for making a grand entrance, even if it meant being fashionably late.
Carla was an amazing friend and an even more incredible mother. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Heather Taylor, and her son-in-law, Lamont Taylor. Carla was also a proud grandmother to Lamont Taylor Jr. and Levon Taylor. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Carla was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly, her brother, Richard, her mother, Betty, and her father, Carl.
Carla received her education at Santa Monica High School and furthered her studies at Santa Monica Community College. She embarked on a successful career journey, beginning as a stewardess at Western Airlines. Later, she transitioned to become an interior designer and builder, showcasing her talent and creativity. One of her notable achievements was designing and constructing the renowned "Super House," which she, & then husband Dorn, sold to Johnny Carson for an impressive $9.5 million in 1984. The sale came about after Johnny attended a party hosted by Carla and was captivated by the house's magnificence, prompting him to ask "how much" and make an offer she couldn't refuse.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Carla indulged in various hobbies that brought her joy and excitement. She had a passion for riding motorcycles, hiking, skiing, hosting parties, water skiing, and, of course, traveling to new destinations.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Carla at Palm Southwest Mortuary, located at 7979 W Warm Springs Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89113, beginning at 3:30pm with doors opening at 3pm. The family invites all friends and loved ones to join them in commemorating Carla's remarkable life.
