

Celso Espita Suratos, age 55, of Las Vegas, passed away on February 19, 2024 in Los Angeles, California at 5:59 AM. He was born on June 2, 1968 in Manila, Philippines to Ceferino and Ramona Suratos and grew up in Las Pinas, Philippines with his two siblings, Enelynn Ansell and Cesar Ian Suratos. He graduated from Perpetual Help High School in 1985.
After graduating High School, he attended Pats College of Aeronautics, where he was a varsity player in volleyball and earned a BS in Aviation Electronics and Communication Engineering in 1990. Celso moved in the US in 1992 and worked in several industries like Macom, Bikor and Primetime Shuttle before working in Scientific Games, the casino industry in Las Vegas, retiring in 2019.
He enjoyed playing video games, playing basketball, volleyball, swimming, ping-pong, racket ball, bowling, and dancing. He played the guitar, bass, and drums, and often went biking, motorcycling, and the gym. He liked listening to 80’s music and reggae.
Some of his favorite vacations over the years included trips to Japan, Paris, Israel, Jerusalem, Aruba, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the Philippines, where he was able to experience some of his favorite foods in addition to Hawaiian, Korean, and Mediterranean cuisines.
He was a God-fearing man with a sense of humor and a joyful spirit. He was generous and was always willing to help others. Celso was a member of the 9:30 mass choir and played bass for Holy Spirit Catholic Church In Las Vegas. Celso and his wife were members of Couples for Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Merydith, whom he married on January 11, 1992; his beloved twin boys, Calvin married to Judy and Melvin married to Erlynn; and grandchildren, Jasper Cai, and baby Melynn. Celso always had a positive outlook on life. He was endlessly kind, loved his family, and trusted God. He enjoyed his life and believed that, because you only live once, staying happy and healthy was the most important goal.
A visitation for Celso will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024 with a prayer service beginning at 6:30pm, all at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Road. A funeral mass will begin at 12pm on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Drive. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue.
