

Dennis C. Davis, 64, a retired hotel management professional, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. Dennis was born May 12, 1946, in Payson, Utah, to Albert and LaVerta Davis. After graduating from Spanish Fork High School, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Dennis then moved to Las Vegas in 1970 to attend UNLV where he earned his BS degree in hotel administration. This began a 30 year career in the Las Vegas hospitality industry where he worked in various hotel management positions at the Landmark, Aladdin, Maxim, Boomtown, Stardust and Imperial Palace Hotels. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, of 33 years, Nancy; daughter, Marri Thompson; grandchildren, Emilee, Abbie, Kanadee, Carlee and Hagen; his father, Albert; his sisters, Sheila Daw, Sherrie Yocom and Carrie Davis; his brother, Kevin; and many nieces and nephews, including Brandy Fort who was like a daughter and Kendra Holzman, his very special nurse. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerta Davis. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, with funeral to follow, both at Palm Mortuary Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
