DeWayne "Dewey" Chandler

Born in San Antonio, Texas, the biggest baby in San Antonio, raised in Las Vegas, NV. Graduated from Chaparral High School in 1985, he played football & soccer in high school. He held many records for the longest field goals made, he was recruited to play football in college in California & Colorado. All star softball player for many years. He was a waiter at Tender Steakhouse at Luxor, he worked there since it opened in 1993. He loved getting to know people & always said to treat them like family.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, bbq & cooking, family vacations & holidays, going to his kids sporting events, and watching sports & ESPN. He was the life of every party, welcomed everyone, hilarious, had the best stories “short & long”, contagious laugh, and the biggest heart.

Dewey is preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Margarita, brothers, Charlie Jr, Neto, Roger, Sisters, Margie, Diana, Santos, Pauline, Adella, Mary, Lucy, father in law Roy, sister-in-law Barb & brother in law Kevin, nieces and nephews

Surviving is his wife, Melissa of 32 years, their children, Kaitlyn, Adriana, Cameron, Nevan, Nevaeh, & daughter-in-law Marissa. Mother in law Jean Borregard, his brother & sister in law, Frank & Carmen Chandler, brother Robbie Long, sisters, Gracie, Elizabeth, & Rosemary. He also had many nieces & nephews, many great nieces and nephews, that he loved dearly.

Services will be on Saturday May 27th, at Palm Mortuary on 7600 S Eastern, 89123

5:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
