

Don served in the US Army during World War II and was a retired General Manager for the JC Penny Company for 40 years. During his career, he managed six JC Penny stores where he mentored hundreds of employees positively impacting many lives.
Don was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. No matter the subject, Don could carry on a conversation with anyone. He had a wealth of knowledge, a quick wit and was a pleasure to talk to. A trip to the grocery store with Don would often turn into a couple of hours as he made friends with strangers along the way.
Don was preceded in death by his sweetheart of 60 years, Theresa Marie; his parents; and six brothers.
He is survived by his sister Elenor; daughters Valerie (Kim), Vicki (Mickey), and Leslie; son Karl; grandchildren Heather, Kelly, Laura, Amanda, Mark, Megan, Justin, Jacob, David and Sarah; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank his caretakers Angie, Diane and Carolyn of Sylvania, Ohio for their years of compassionate care, and the staff and residents of Prestige at Mira Loma in Henderson, Nevada for their care and friendship during Donald’s stay.
A visitation will be held at 1:00pm with a service at 2:00pm followed by a reception on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the King David Mortuary, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89120 located in the Palm Eastern complex. A visitation and graveside service will be announced in Sylvania, Ohio.
