Dorothy "Dotty" Cenzer

Dorothy (Dotty) Ann Cenzer was called home to Heaven on Jan 25,2025. After a courageous battle with cancer, she died peacefully in her sleep at age 89.

Dotty was born on July 5,1935 in The Bronx, New York. After graduating high school, Dotty met Fred Cenzer through friends. On Oct 9, 1954 they were married in New York City, New York.

In 1961, the Cenzers moved their 4 children to Long Island. There are many great stories about the family gatherings and legendary parties held in the Cenzer home.

in 1980, Dotty, Fred and Elle moved to Las Vegas. Dotty quickly joined the Guardian Angel Cathedral, where over the years she became an icon there. She served as a Eucharist Minister and then as an Usher and was very loved in her church.. Faith was the foundation of Dotty's being. When she lost her soulmate Fred and then her son Michael, she was heartbroken but she never once lost her faith and would say "God will get me through this."

Dotty volunteered at assisted living homes where she put a smile on the resident's faces as she danced and prayed with them.

Dotty was known for her boundless energy and she put a lot of that energy into line dancing. In her younger days, she won several dancing contests. In Vegas, she line danced at Stoney's and Gilley's where she made many friends. They called her Mrs. Fields because she brought them so many homemade cookies. She line danced until age 85!

Dotty was preceded in death by her husband Fred, son Michael and Mother Amy. and Father Stephen.

She is survived by 3 children, Steve(Carrie), Rick(Malinda), Elle and daughter-in law Laura,( widow of Michael), 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Dotty loved her God and her family fiercely. She was always there with a smile, warm embrace or listening ear.

Dotty was an exemplary Mother, Grandmother and friend. She always showed unconditional love and strength of spirit. She was our Rock and to say she will be missed is an understatement. She will be forever in our hearts and be a bright guiding light to all who knew her.

Dotty's days on earth are over but her love will live on.

Funeral Mass will be held at Guardian Angel on 302 Cathedral Way, Las Vegas, NV 89109 on February 11, 2025 at 10:15am.

Memorial Service and Reception will be held at Palm, Eastern location on 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123 on February 12, 2025 at 11:00am.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A committal service will occur Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A reception will occur Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
