

Elma Marie “Jing” Briones Sicam, 63, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away on February 27, 2021 in her home under hospice care after a long battle with complications from massive bilateral strokes due to a cerebral vascular accident in September 2018.
Elma was born January 19, 1958 in Tarlac City, Philippines to Damaso and Pilar Briones. She moved to the United States at the age of 22, where she met and married her husband Raymundo Sicam in Houston, Texas.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from La Concordia in Manila, Philippines, where she graduated in 1979. After deciding to migrate to America, Elma embarked on her career as a registered nurse in 1981 where she followed her medical pursuits in Houston, Los Angeles, and finally, Las Vegas. She dedicated 26 years as a hardworking RN in the Intensive Care Unit at University Medical Center before retiring in August 2018.
Elma loved praying and attending mass, cooking, traveling, watching Filipino soap operas, and visiting with friends and family. She had the most generous, thoughtful demeanor towards everyone she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Raymundo; her son, Raymond “JJ” III; her daughter, Jan Rachel, and Maltese, Einstein.
Funeral viewing service will be held at 4:30pm on June 10, 2021 at Palm Eastern Mortuary and 10:00am on June 11 at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 12:00pm at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
