April 30, 1931 - December 5, 2017
Elsie Ruth Herman was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and at an early age showed a passion and skill for gymnastics. She joined the circus, where she became a successful aerialist in the famous Los Aeros act and would perform death defying acts over 100ft in the air. During the circus off season, she met Carl Butler, who had just returned from the war. She and Carl fell in love and were married on February 14th, 1953, where they became the parents of four beautiful children.
She is survived by her four children Scott Butler, Sheree Bless, Renee Butler, and Bridgett Butler five grandchildren; Eddie & Chris Bless, Somer & Zak Athri, and Camdan Butler Dowers. With one great-grandchild Hunter Bless and one on the way.
In 1962, they moved to the Las Vegas area where they opened the family business, Carl's Air Conditioning, in 1964. Elsie completed college courses in Bookkeeping and both Carl and Elsie were dedicated to the company until their retirement.
She and Carl spent their summers on the Stoney Acre Farms in Wausaukee, Wisconsin and actively traveled to support their UNLV Running Rebels. They would often participate in the Model A Club and would drive their Model A's in parades all across the west coast. Elsie was a cut-throat card player, a lover of bingo and cooking, and would never hesitate to give you her opinion. She was the perfect mix of sass and sweet and will be missed, dearly.
Proceedings will be held on January 6th, 2018 at Green Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church. Any condolences can be sent to the family at 2907 La Mesa Dr., Henderson, NV 89014.
