George E. Thompson, age 83, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on June 10, 2024.
George was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 3, 1941, to Charles Thompson and Agnes O’Brien.
In the 1960s, George moved from Louisville to Hollywood, California, where he worked as a graphics designer. He met his wife, Hedy, in 1982, and they married in 1984. In 1988, they moved to Las Vegas, NV, where George pursued a career as a blackjack dealer. He worked at several casinos throughout the Las Vegas valley, including Bally’s Hotel and Casino, the California, and the Las Vegas Club. He also worked at Primm Valley Resorts, retiring after more than 20 years of service.
George was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Dallas Cowboys, the Kentucky Wildcats college basketball team, and the Kentucky Derby. He had his quirks, like always choosing Pepsi and preferring things done a certain way. He found contentment in catching a sports event on TV or spending time with his son, Kevin.
George is survived by his wife, Henedina (Hedy), his son Kevin, and his brother Charles Thompson. He was preceded in death by his son from a previous relationship, Greg Thompson. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
At George's request, no services will be held.
