Jose Maria Gerardo Fernandez Ezpeleta was born on October 16, 1965, in Manila Philippines to Tirso Gentica Ezpeleta & Luz Fernandez Ezpeleta. Gerry, as he was called by everyone, is survived by his siblings, Jean Ezpeleta, Armando (boyet) Ezpeleta & Yolanda (yoli) De Dios Ezpeleta, Elizabeth (beth) Ezpeleta Salas & Marty Salas, Jerome Ezpeleta, Dorothy (doy) Ezpeleta, Caroline (carol) Ezpeleta, and Jose Marie (jomar) Ezpeleta.
Gerry received his primary and secondary education at Marist High School in Marikina. He then went to college at the Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA) in Quezon City. Gerry’s skill and love for dancing landed him in Japan where he lived for over a decade which made him quite fluent in the Japanese language. Gerry then moved to the United States to join his parents and siblings in the late 90’s.
Gerry worked for the hospitality industry where he received accolades for his great work ethic and for his superior customer service skills. His last employment was with the Marriott Residence Inn in Las Vegas as a supervisor.
Gerry was a kind and gentle man with a big heart, a generous, loving and caring brother, uncle and friend. Gerry was a comedian and there was never a dearth of fun and laughter when Gerry was around. He was so well loved, not just by relatives, but by friends and co-workers. Gerry was also a graceful dancer, an artistic choreographer and best of all, a great cook. He was a loyal Filipino food lover, and a lover of Japanese food as well. Aside from cooking and dancing, Gerry loved watching his Filipino soap operas when not playing some slot machines.
Gerry found great happiness when he was surrounded by his family. For Gerry, his family was his life, and everything else came second as far as what was important to him.
Our brother, Gerry, 54, a fighter, who fought his battle with his health issues until the end, left us the day before his birthday, October 15, 2019, at 2:55pm with his family by his side in Las Vegas, Nevada.
HE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED BY HIS FAMILY; HIS FRIENDS AND ALL WHO KNEW HIM.
