Gladys was born on October 26, 1929 in Minnesota to Sarah (Lessen) and Saul Fisher and has been a Southern Nevada resident since the 1970s. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Irving Hechter. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Hechter and Laurie Putnam (Bob); son, Robert Hechter (Georgiann); brother, Harry Fisher; four grandchildren, Bryan R. Stephan (Anna), Matthew S. Hechter, Joshua S. Hechter, and Sarah A. Hechter; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Kate Stephan. Gladys went to Marshall High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. She married Irving Hechter in 1949 and they came to California in 1954 to raise their family. After raising three children, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1974 and they owned and operated the jewelry store in the Flamingo Hilton Hotel. In 1982 Gladys and her son Bob opened Oak World Furniture and operated it for 30 years. She resided in Sun City Anthem and enjoyed swimming and playing cards. She took countless cruises with family and friends and traveled the world. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2020 followed at 2:00pm by a funeral service at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
