Grace Zimmerman

Grace Zimmerman, 77, was a recent transplant from Chicago to Las Vegas by way of Los Angeles. She passed away on June 24, 2012 at the Desert Springs Hospital. Grace was born July 16, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Irene Tuma. She married Herman Zimmerman, who passed away in 1988. Having a love of family vacations, Grace could easily instill an excitement to travel in others. On many a summer trip, she would pack up her children and visit loved ones in states from Florida to Washington. In later years, when she could no longer travel because of medical problems, Grace would take great joy recalling heartfelt stories from these times spent with her children and their friends. Grace accepted life’s challenges and wore many hats during her career lifetime from working in the nursing field, to driving a school bus, ending with short stints in telemarketing. Grace is survived by her children Carol, Michael, Jeffrey, Diane, and Edward; grandchildren David, Randy, Alex, Michael, Monica, Michael, Corinne, and Morgan; and great-grandchildren Jordan and Aiden, all of whom she was very proud of. A visitation will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2012. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 with a burial to follow at Palm Mortuary and Cemetery.
