A 105-Year Wonderful Life! Harold Gastwirth of Las Vegas peacefully passed away August 7 at the age of 105. He was born Dec 26, 1911 in Chicago where he was a businessman. He retired to Atlanta, then lived in Los Angeles before settling in Las Vegas in 1997. Ann, his loving wife of 64 years, passed away in Las Vegas in 2001. He is survived by his three sons; Paul (Marlene d. 2017), Loren (Randi), Bruce (Barbara), 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Family meant everything to Harold. He enjoyed his role as husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. An observant Jew, he was a dedicated man of faith. It brought him great comfort, guidance, and joy. He observed and participated in all the Jewish holy day celebrations. He was very thankful for his many blessings. He had a humorous personality and he would share his experiences and wisdom with others who treasured those conversations. A die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, he outlived the curse to see last year’s Cubs World Series victory - constantly wearing his Cubs hat. Harold loved his independence. He did not want to be a burden to anyone - he only wanted to “do it by myself!” He read the newspaper every day of his life, and loved a good business discussion at any time. He enjoyed his good health, family and longevity to the very end. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be at 1:00PM pm August 8, 2017 Tuesday in Las Vegas at King David Mortuary 2697 E Eldorado Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89120 | 702-464-8570 .
