

She was born on December 23, 1952 in Artesia, California to Harold W. and Barbara J. McCandless where they made their home in Pico Rivera, California.
She attended L. T. Magee Elementary and Burke Junior High Schools, both in Pico Rivera. She then graduated from Lowell High School in La Habra, California after attending Panguitch High School in Utah for her sophomore year.
Heather earned her Associate of Science degree from Fullerton College, then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona, specializing in Management Information Systems. She received achievement awards for her grades in college, all the while working to support her daughter Deanna.
Heather was an exceptional young mother in the 1970’s. She cherished her life with her daughter. Everyone knew that Deanna came first in all things.
Heather was a Girl Scout leader for over 8 years and later, was a Cub Scout leader at church. She enjoyed cooking and canning. She loved nature visits to Zion, Colorado, the California Redwoods, the Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest. She enjoyed traveling whether it was a simple car ride to Valley of Fire, seeing the sights in Washington D.C., or enjoying the volcanoes and sandy beaches of Hawaii. Everyone who knew Heather can safely say Disneyland and Walt Disney World were her favorite places in the world.
Family was of utmost importance in her life. Heather was happiest just playing games and spending time with each and every member of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Jason) Wright; sister Deborah McCandless; grandchildren Gregory (Jeannette) Wright and William Wright; with niece Rebecca McCandless. Heather was preceded in death by her parents, Harold W. and Barbara J. (Jensen) McCandless.
Visitation will be held at 12:30pm, March 30, 2021 at Palm Eastern Mortuary. Graveside services immediately following.
