He was born on April 13, 1954, in Cavite, Philippines, to Isidro Sr. and Victoria Baquiran. Dennis grew up in a family of Gourmet chefs. His mother was often asked to oversee preparations and food catering during big events in their hometown, while his father was a Navy Culinary Specialist, who provided food service for admirals and officers. When he was a little boy, his father used to take Sid with him on the ship, and he was so mischievous that the captain called him "Dennis the Menace", hence the name.
He came to the US at the age of 17 and started his career in the food industry. He worked mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area, starting at La Scala Italian Restaurant. He then worked at Denny's Restaurant, where he received a huge monetary award for inventing a dish. He was a Chef at Bakers Square where he earned various awards and medals for exemplary service. He was also the Chef at Lucky Chances Casino from opening day until his retirement in 2004.
Dennis lived life to the fullest, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He had an encounter with the Lord when He was 16, and rededicated his life to Jesus on September 26, 2015. He loved to travel, go fishing, bowling, playing golf, but he was happiest when he spent quality time with his children and the grand kids.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sons Ryan and Wesley; step-children Kevin, Kaytie, Kristine and Kris; grandsons Gabriel and Bryce; granddaughters Jada, Jaelyn, Kaela, Layla, Kaylee, and Jemmalyn; and his brother Danny Baquiran.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm, May 15, 2021 at Palm Eastern Mortuary in Las Vegas.
