John Folk, 83, passed away in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. He was born January 8, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to John Henry Folk and Alice Folk (Grant). John served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired in 1972 as a Staff Sergeant. During his time in the military, he worked for the Air Force fire department and played basketball for the Air Force. John loved all sports and trained in martial arts. After his military career, he owned a restaurant in Brooklyn for 21 years before moving to Las Vegas. You would always find John with a joke or a smile. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Chong; his sons, Daniel, Steven, David and Kwang; and his daughters, Debra, Donette and Simone. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 11AM at Palm Southwest Mortuary. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Southwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
