

John Pa’ia Willis Jr., 67-years old, was a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, where he passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020. He was born to John Pa’ia Willis Sr. and MaryLee Fuentes Willis in Honolulu, Hawai’i and raised in Kaimuki then Waipahu, Hawai’i. John married the love of his life, Jocelyn Daclison, on June 24, 1972 in ‘Ewa, Hawai’i.
Post high school, John joined the Army Reserve National Guard, and then gained employment at the O’ahu Sugar Plantation, where he worked at for more than 20 years. At the closure of the O’ahu Sugar Plantation in the late 1990s, John remained on the island to work for Dole Plantation for a brief year. John decided after that year to move his family to Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon arrival to Las Vegas, he worked at the Green Valley Ranch Henderson then moved on to Mandalay Bay in 2006. He remained at the Mandalay Bay until his passing.
John is survived by his wife Jocelyn Willis; daughters Jayleen Willis (Chad Galdones), Jasmine Sablay (Demo Sablay Jr.), Jateri Willis (Marcus Jefferson) and Janine Savedra (Richard Savedra); son John Colby Willis (Tracy Alviz); eight grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Shareen Barroga (El Barroga), Clarence Willis, Bob Willis (Linda Willis), Mercy Labuguen (Jimmy Labuguen) and Keith Kapela.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00am – 12:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary located at 7600 South Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. Lunch to immediately follow the services.
