Johny Meeks

Johny was born on May 9, 1946, in Paris, France, to Lillian Germaine Sacquepee Meeks and Robert Lee Meeks. He was the oldest of four children.

Johny joined the United States Air Force in 1966 where he served as an Aerospace Control & Warning System Technician and a Logistics Plan Technician.

In the summer of 1965, Johny met Gerda in Geissen, Germany. Their beautiful marital journey began on November 26, 1966, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Johny’s military career took his family to many locations around the world ending at Nellis Air Force Base. After Johny retired from the Air Force in 1988, he worked as a salesman for Gaudin Porsche and then Potlatch.

Johny was a devoted husband and father of three who loved to cook and entertain his family with jokes and his impressions of Elvis or John Wayne. He loved music, westerns, football, and Southern food. His passion for aviation meant he always had an eye to the sky watching planes take off and land, especially those carrying his family members.

Johny was preceded in death last year by Gerda, his loving wife of 57 years.

Johny is survived by son David Meeks and wife Nicole; son Alan Meeks and wife Dawn; daughter Tanya Martino and husband Tony; sister Sylvia Bowman and husband Bo; brother Michael Meeks; brother Robert Meeks and wife Diana; his grandchildren: Jaden Martino, Makenna Reid and Jacob Reid; nieces and nephews; and his beloved Yorkie, Bugsy.

Johny’s Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:00 am with the committal to follow at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
