

Joseph Michael Nero III, born on October 28, 1953, in Oak Park, Illinois, to parents Joseph Michael Nero Jr., Clara Ann Nero (Burdi). He passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson, Nevada on July 7, 2024. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Joseph is survived by his father Chris Rhinehart, wife Deborah Nero, former wife Lynn Rogers, and their children: Joseph Nero, Stephanie Nero (Mendoza); Ryan Nero, Tracy Nero (Cusimano); Robert Nero, Amanda Nero (Zucker); Steven Nero, Corinne Nero (Dunk); Joel Pervinich, Vicki Pervinich (Caruso). He was a proud grandfather to Madison Nero, Samantha Nero, Chloe Nero, Rocco Nero, Ashlyn Nero, Natalie Nero, Michael Nero, Joseph Frank Nero Jr., Brooklyn Aragon, Samantha Aragon, and Iris Aragon. Joseph was also a great-grandfather to Stella Szot and Luca Devereux. He will be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joe really enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. No matter the size of the gathering, he delighted in preparing meals that brought everyone together ~ “Manja, Manja” he would say. His home was always open and the table was always set, to whip up something delicious for the company in presence.
In addition to his love of cooking, Joe enjoyed traveling with his family and teaching valuable life lessons to his sons. One place that was very special to Joe was Positano Italy, where he and Deborah were married in 2007.
Joe's love for his nieces and nephews was boundless, and he treated them as his own children, creating countless cherished memories with them. Joe's generosity knew no boundaries; always willing to lend his hand, ear, or his heart.
Joseph Michael Nero III’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and a zest for life. He leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories and a family that will forever be grateful for the incredible childhood and experiences he provided. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church located at 1 s 314 Summit Avenue, Oakbrook Terrace Illinois on August 3, 2024 at 10:30am. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Pinstripes on August 3rd from 12pm to 3pm, located at 7 Oakbrook Center, Oakbrook Illinois.
