Josephine M Labate

She was born December 23rd 1919, in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Roseto, Pennsylvania. She was a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada from 1975 to 2000. During that time she worked at Desert Springs and Sunrise Hospitals as a registered nurse. She took great pride in her work as a leader, instructor, and member of the hospitals' I.V. teams.

Jo cherished her family and had a generous, caring heart. She enjoyed watching classic movies, puzzles and traveling. Even at 93, Jo had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. Jo's infectious laugh will forever be missed.

Jo is survived by her sister Ann Massey of the Villages, Florida, a daughter, Marilyn Frank and her husband, Brad, of Prescott, Arizona; and a son Frank Mazza and his wife Nancy of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; 6 grandchildren Tiffany Jones and her husband Chris; Trent Toltzman and his wife Samantha; Trent Suyeyasu and his wife Courtney; and Cody, Delaney, and Jordan Mazza; and 4 great-grandchildren Connor and Hailey Jones; Cezanne Toltzman; and Nolan Suyeyasu.

Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30pm Sunday, May 12, 2013 with graveside service to follow at Palm Eastern Mortuary 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89123

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation be made in her name to Catholic Charities or the American Cancer Society.
