Some of our fondness and somewhat quirky memories we have included when he was 7 or 8 years old, he had a yard sale selling his discarded toys and miscellaneous items including a pair of my mother's shoes from her closet he thought he didn't need. We had to pull those shoes from him and back into our mother's closet before she got home from work.
The floors of our house were constantly littered with his Lego's and little plastic Army men. My mother's poor vacuum cleaner and our poor feet!
He bought an old VW Bug, pulled out the engine, took it apart and back together. We asked why he did that. He was a "Why Not" kind of brother because well, he could do it.
He then ventured on to 4 wheelers for which he rode regularly in the Las Vegas desert dunes east of Sunrise Mountain. He somehow piqued my mother's curiosity with his love of feeling the wind, freedom and awe of 4 wheeling and shortly thereafter it became a son and mother team with hers and his 4 wheelers. It was the most beautiful thing to witness; a son and mother sharing the love of outdoors on an accumulative 8 wheels roaring in the desert and kicking up the dust.
Later in his years he spent nearly a decade work with the aged, transporting them to and from medical facilities. These new skills helped with my mother too as she advanced in years. His few years with us, he transported Las Vegas visitors to and from the airport and LaQuinta Inn and Suites. Being a native of the city, it was a natural fit for him sharing all he knows of the city with the visitors he met throughout his day.
His dreams of getting his own place never came to be but he is now in the best place anyone could ever want to live, forever.
Kenneth was preceded by our mother, Christhild Benoit, our father, Alphie Benoit and our sister, Dolores Benoit. He is survived by his two brothers, Roger Benoit of Las Vegas, Nevada and Raymond Benoit of Kingston, Washington.
