The losses you have recently suffered are so very sad, and I am just so sorry about the passing of your mom and your grandpa Paul.  I wanted to share a couple of stories about them, in case you hadn't heard them.

When Randy and Jacqui were married, I was there for it and for the reception which was held out of doors.  The wedding cake was in the garage, if you remember, and it was a bit dry.  Presently, everyone was sitting around on the lawn, eating cake and ice cream.  I took a couple of bites of the cake and then realized that one piece got stuck in my windpipe.  I couldn't breathe and I couldn't talk, and I knew I was in trouble.  I stumbled around trying to get someone to realize that I was choking.  People kept saying, "Are you okay?" to which I kept shaking my head NO.  Finally, in desperation, I went over to your grandpa Paul, pulled him up to his feet, turned my back to him and put his hands around my waist and under my rib cage.  Then I signaled him to PUSH.  He got the message and after a couple of firm pushes, the cake dislodged an I could breathe again.  Simply put, I guess we both saved my life, but I will never forget his help.

When Uncle George died, I came to Vegas for the funeral, and afterwards we were all at your mom's house, talking and getting to know one another again. Your mom had an electric organ which I drifted over to (of course) and soon I was playing some of the old standards.  Your grandpa Paul really liked my playing and started requesting songs.  Then I played "The Blue Skirt Waltz" and your mom and Uncle Paul started dancing to it.  They were great dancers and it stands out in my mind as one of the highlights of the day.

My old age forbids me to travel now, so I won't be there for Uncle Paul's funeral, but I will always remember him and your mom and how wonderful they both were.

We (Marilyn and I) so enjoyed all the pictures you sent through the internet, especially of the one of Tom and Kim on our fishing trip to Oregon.  What fun we had, oh ya, a lot of good memories.

My love and prayers are with all of you.  Although we didn't see each other often, we had special friendship and she will be missed a lot.

My thoughts and love to all of you, you have a wonderful family and Kim was so proud of all of you.  Kim will always be a very special friend to me and I have so many wonderful memories.  

She always brought so much joy and laughter to everyone she met.  Do not grieve but smile and laugh at the memories. Let me know if I can help you in any way.  I know I have to pick up golf clubs she borrowed and would like to bring dad some of his special cookies I baked for him.

How do you summarize a lifetime of memories with Grandma in a short little message? You can't, but I can say that I am so thankful to have had you as apart of my life and my children's lives. Kim was our neighbor for many years. She was the sweetest most generous person I know.. Would give you the food off her plate!! Her door was always open. She especially liked (not for the reason they were there) opening it to the handsome Firemen from station #29 when they'd come to rescue Paul. She loved her family so much and especially her Dad who she dedicated her time and life to the last few years. Her home was open to the neighborhood kids for food and money and a hug when they needed it. They'd run over and help her with groceries or little chores when she needed it. She cared so much for everyone..and threw great parties! We love and miss her..Bill and Susan

Kim's smile is what I remember most from my childhood. She was always sweet and welcoming. My condolences to the family. Love you lots Brenda.
