You were the sister I never had. We shared common things that we both loved. I was so lucky to be your sister-in-law.  You were the most positive person I ever knew. For you, life is a box of chocolates, no bitter taste, even the darkest ones.

EULOGY:
Family and friends, thank you for gathering here today as we honor and celebrate the life of our beloved Malene - a woman whose kindness, joy, grace, and faith touched every person fortunate enough to know her. Her passing leaves us heartbroken and yet in our grief, we are surrounded by the beauty of her life, the love she shared, and the memories she leaves behind.
A day before Malene passed away, there was a moment that captured her gentle spirit perfectly. She was being helped by my wife Gie who had lovingly cared for her throughout her illness and by a compassionate hospice nurse with an angelic face. After they put her to bed, Malene looked at them and suddenly said with a full smile and in her sweet, familiar voice, “I have two beautiful nurses!” 
And then her final words that reflect exactly who she was were “We are all beautiful.”
Even near the end of her life, Malene found beauty—not just in the faces around her, but in the kindness, love and spirit of the people who cared for her. She saw beauty in all of us, because she carried so much beauty within herself.
Malene was a truly beautiful person—not only in appearance, but in heart and spirit. She was sweet, warm, and very caring. She was thoughtful and humble, always thinking of others even while facing her own challenges. Her joy was contagious; her elegance natural; her faith steady; her bravery inspiring. She had a gentle sense of humor that made everyone feel at ease.
To know Malene was to feel loved, appreciated and uplifted.
On behalf of the Terciano & Cara families, I want to thank all of you who are here today to pay tribute to Malene & also to those who could not be here physically but who prayed for her endlessly during her illness and after her passing. Your prayers, love & support carried all of us through this difficult time.
We love you, Malene and we will miss you.
May you rest in God’s eternal peace surrounded by the love & beauty that you so freely shared with all of us.

I am Derfel Terciano, the nephew of Malene Teciano Cara.

If you knew Auntie Malene, you knew someone special. She had this incredible gift of making everyone around her feel welcomed, valued, and just a little bit happier than they were before. She was charismatic, funny, and one of the most genuinely caring souls I’ve ever known.

I think about a moment on a family cruise that perfectly captures who Auntie Malene was. We were at one of those line dancing events, and while most of us were standing on the sidelines feeling a bit awkward, Auntie Malene just went for it. She got out there with this infectious energy and joy that was impossible to resist. Before long, strangers were joining in, laughing and dancing alongside her. That was Auntie Malene - she didn’t just participate in life, she invited everyone else to join her in it.

But her kindness wasn’t about the big, memorable moments. It showed up in small, consistent ways too. Every birthday when I was a kid, Auntie Malene would slip me and my brother some birthday money. At the time, I thought it was a nice gesture from a generous aunt. But years later, when I was struggling through college, that tradition took on new meaning. I used that money to help support myself, and I realized that Auntie Malene had been investing in my future all along. She believed in me even when I was just a kid blowing out candles on a cake.

Auntie Malene was more than just my aunt. She was a role model who showed me how to live with warmth, humor, and an open heart. She taught me that kindness doesn’t have to be complicated - sometimes it’s just showing up, dancing like nobody’s watching, and making people feel like they belong.

We will miss her terribly, but I’ll carry forward the lessons she taught us: to be generous, to embrace joy, and to welcome others with the same open spirit she showed to everyone lucky enough to know her.

I get teary eyed every time I see the photos of our dear Malene…I’m so missing her but I know she’s up in heaven watching over us ..I will miss her always consulting her Ate Gie , advising her of a good vacation plan or a cruise and then Gie inviting me to join them .. thus I get to know what a beautiful person Malene was … a very special human being …Malene will always be in my heart ❤️

We remember our beautiful and beloved ate/sister Malene at our daughter, Fericia and son-in-law, Keith's wedding on June 6, 2025. She was so happy and full of life on that special day. Ate Malene was smiling from ear to ear, laughing and enjoying the celebration with family and friends. We are so grateful to God that she was able to witness the marriage of her niece. We will remember and not forget how kind-hearted, sweet, loving and caring she was to everyone. Now, we find comfort that she is at peace and resting with our Heavenly Father. We will miss you, love you and continue to cherish your loving memories.

The last time I saw Malene was during the cruise last December 2024, and she was as vibrant and lively as ever. True to her glamorous and pretty self, she danced the night away with her graceful moves, radiating joy and elegance. It was a devastating shock to hear of her passing, as she was truly beautiful inside and out. Her loss will be deeply felt by many Lucbanins and friends who cherished her warmth and spirit.

God created us because each of us has a mission on earth, and those who have completed their mission are called home to heaven with the Father. Ma’am Malene Terciano Cara was a wonderful person. Her charming smile and gentle heart captured many, making her truly loved by those around her. We are deeply saddened by the news of her passing, but we believe she is now in the loving presence of our heavenly Father. Heaven must be blessed to welcome such a lovely angel.

Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of kindness and goodness will always remain and be treasured. I am proud and grateful that she was my LANC benefactor, and blessed to have known such a generous soul through her. She always shared nothing but positivity.

I am saddened because I hoped to meet her one day to thank her personally. But perhaps God has a greater plan for her. Praying for the eternal rest of Ma’am Malene Terciano Cara. My deepest condolences to her loved ones. 🕊️🙏🏻

Thank You for having taken Auntie Malene to Your place that is far better & that she is home with You forever. We praise You for being so welcoming to her. Amen.

Just as You promised the sinner on the cross, You said “today” to Auntie Malene too, that she is in Paradise with You. We are grateful to You for being so gracious to her. Amen.

You are the resurrection & the life. Because Auntie Malene believed in You, she lives even now, fully alive in fellowship with You. Amen.

Auntie Malene believed that Jesus died & rose again. Because of that faith, we know she is with You in heaven today. We rest in Your promises. Amen.

Every tear has been wiped from Auntie Malene’s eyes. There is no more pain or sorrow, only the exhilarating joy of being with You forever. Amen.

Auntie Malene kept looking to You, Lord, in awe, because You are the Author & Finisher of her faith. Thank You for being faithful to her all the way home. Amen.

In Loving Remembrance of MALENE TERCIANO CARA

The world grew a little dimmer last week as we said goodbye to a truly radiant soul, MALENE, beautiful inside and out, leaving behind a legacy of elegance, laughter, and light that touched everyone lucky enough to know her.

Modern in spirit and timeless in style, Malene had an effortless grace that turned moments into memories. Her fashion sense wasn’t just about clothes—it was her art. She could make a room brighter with a single smile and make an outfit sing with her unique blend of confidence and creativity.

Those who knew her will forever remember her sense of humor—quick, clever, and contagious. She had a laugh that could lift heavy hearts and a way of seeing the world that made even ordinary days feel special.

And oh, how Malene loved to dance. Whether surrounded by family and friends, or lost in her own joy, she moved with a freedom and happiness that reminded us all, how beautiful life can be when you let yourself feel it fully.

Her elegance, her wit, her warmth, and the rhythm she brought to life will never fade. Malene will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
