

He was born on July 22, 1951 in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He moved to Hilo, HI in 1975 and worked at the Hilo Coast Processing Company in Pepeekeo for one year, as a V-Cutter operator. He also obtained the name “Casey”. Then he joined the Army, stationed in North Carolina from 1976 to 1977. He returned to the Philippines to marry his wife Cristeta on April 8, 1977. They returned to Hilo and he continued working at the Plantation till 1990.
He also got into the farming business; growing papaya, ginger, purple sweet potato, and taro for about 6 years. He was also a fish cutter at Suisan Fish Market till 1998, then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Magdaleno really loved good food, cooking and socializing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed collecting antiques and old soda bottles. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars. He was known for his sense of humor, kind and generous heart, and a modest and humble lifestyle.
He is survived by his wife, Cristeta; son Dan; daughter MaryAnn; son Lee; and grandchildren Tiara, Nicholas, Jayden, Dalen and Kaylee.
Visitation will be held at 4:00pm-6:00pm, and funeral service at 6:00pm-7:00pm, at Palm Eastern Mortuary on September 22, 2017.
