Margaret Hall was born as Margaret Ostler in Nephi, Utah to Ned and Enid Ostler. Her family relocated from Nephi to Las Vegas shortly after, and she always considered herself a native Las Vegan. She was a member of the nationally renowned dance group, The Las Vegas Rhythmettes, and performed on The Ed Sullivan Show in New York City in 1955.
While living in Washington D.C., she worked as an administrative assistant for U.S. Senator Harry Reid. She loved giving family and friends tours of the Capitol when they visited, and often knew facts that surprised even those most familiar with the history of the buildings. It was during her time in D.C. that she met her husband, Albert Hall Jr.
She returned to Las Vegas in the late 1980s and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Margaret and Albert married in Las Vegas in November 2004 and were sealed in the Temple in March 2006.
She loved chocolate — which she famously hid all over the house — Elvis, and all things Christmas, especially her Christmas moose collection and The Grinch.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; daughters Suzie, Stacy, and Kim; grandchildren Dustin, Matthew, Amanda, Billy, and Shawn; great-grandchildren Isaiah and Molly; siblings Judy, Diane, Dawna and John. She was preceded in death by her parents Ned and Enid; former husband Larry; sons Michael and Larry; and siblings Bette and Thomas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14 at 10:30 a.m., with a viewing one-hour prior, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Cimarron Ward), located at 7401 W. Smoke Ranch Road, with burial following at Palm Eastern Cemetery, located at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue.
